Finished!

The western saddle kit I got from Rio Rondo  (my first saddle) is finally done! For a first attempt, I'm pretty thrilled with it.

I did make a few mistakes along the way, but I don't think any are too noticeable. I skived through one strap (was able to fix it) and mistook one piece for another late in construction. Lastly two conchos are missing, pins broke and I didn't have any replacements handy (this one hardly bothered me, still getting used to western bling).

After the saddle, the breastplate and bridle only took two days of effort  (plus one day I couldn't get any work done). This is also when I found out I used the wrong piece, the center breastcollar piece (oops :( )

Though this set was made with Feather in mind, it actually fits a few of my models pretty well :)

Still chugging along on my second western pad, and I put a base coat on my paddock pal arabian, who will end black with minimal chrome (if he agrees of course).

Here's the paint used if anyone's interested (woohoo, bargain buy!)
